The tools you'll use to submit your data to Scarlet

Updated over a week ago

As a Scarlet customer, you’ll be using two essential tools to submit your information:

Scarlet GitHub Repository: All the compliance data you create within Scarlet is stored and managed here.

Scarlet Submission Tool: A custom extension for Visual Studio Code (VS Code), giving you access to templates for submitting your structured compliance data.

What is GitHub?

GitHub is an online platform that helps people collaborate on projects, whether they’re writing stories, planning events, or, in your case, managing regulatory data for Scarlet.

Why does Scarlet use GitHub?

Using GitHub allows strict version control of information and seamless collaboration. This makes it the perfect tool to work with when submitting your compliance application.

What is VS Code?

Visual Studio Code, or VSCode, is a powerful yet user-friendly tool for working with text, documents, and code on your computer. One of the things that you can do with VS Code is view and make changes to information in GitHub.

Why does Scarlet use VS Code?

What makes VS Code truly special is its extensions. The Scarlet extension takes your GitHub repository and shows it to you in a way that makes it easy to understand how to submit your information.

The tool lets you easily input the necessary information in the correct format, ensuring your data is ready for assessment.
