Your Scarlet toolkit

As a Scarlet customer, you’ll be using two essential tools:

  • Scarlet GitHub Repository: All the compliance data you create within Scarlet is stored and managed here.

  • Scarlet Submission Tool: A custom extension for Visual Studio Code (VSCode), giving you access to templates for submitting your structured compliance data.

Understanding the Scarlet GitHub Repository

What is GitHub?

GitHub is an online platform that helps people collaborate on projects, whether they’re writing stories, planning events, or, in your case, managing regulatory data for Scarlet.

Using GitHub allows strict version control of information and seamless collaboration. This makes it the perfect tool to work with when submitting your compliance application.

What is VSCode?

Visual Studio Code, or VSCode, is a powerful yet user-friendly tool for working with text, documents, and code on your computer. Think of it as a digital notebook, similar to Microsoft Word, but with much more flexibility and customization.

What makes VSCode truly special is its extensions. Extensions are like apps for your smartphone—they add extra features and capabilities. Installing the right extensions allows you to tailor VSCode to fit your needs, making it the perfect tool for your work.

Why does Scarlet use VSCode?

The Scarlet Submission Tool is an extension that turns VSCode into a powerful platform for submitting your structured compliance data. This tool lets you easily input the necessary information in the correct format, ensuring your data is ready for assessment.
